This was such a wonderful commission and one that I absolutely loved making. My client approached me online and we arranged for her to pop to the studio that I was in at the time. Back when we were allowed to meet in person. She brought with her two very old rings. One ring originally had three diamonds in but over the years one had fallen out never to be seen again. The other ring was the beautiful blue gemstone you can see in the middle of the ring. She explained that these rings meant so much to her and that she felt so sad that she couldn’t wear them. One because it was broken and two because they just weren’t her style. So she decided she wanted them set in a new ring that was more her and she could wear them with pride and really enjoy them again.

When we met we discussed what she would like and sent some pictures to me that she had been looking at. I got designing and showed her what I had come up with. She was happy with the design and I went ahead with removing the gems from their original settings. I then made the ring in recycled sterling silver and set the old gems into a new setting. My client was over the moon when she first saw the ring. These moments honestly mean so much to me, seeing the look on her face was invaluable.

My client is now able to wear the family gemstones in a more modern everyday ring. Enjoying and looking at them everyday and remembering the loved ones who mean so much to her. Rather than being hidden away in storage they are now worn so proudly on a day to day basis.

I am so unbelievable grateful to be able to provide a service for people that makes them feel closer to loved one who are sadly no longer with us and truly understand the importance of such jewellery.
